Susan Quilliam, a British sexologist in the New York Times:
"As pervasive as sex is, she said, society seems just as ignorant and nervous about it as ever. And who could blame people for being confused, bombarded as they are by explicit images, impossible expectations and contradictory, alarming information from an ever-expanding array of media promoting the notion that everyone should be having amazing, contortionistic sex all the time."

The freedom to be philosophic about sexuality is directly related to the food chain and the professed 'wants' of the majority of the community. That is in crisis and tragedy i.e. wars and disaster we see sexual freedome lines blurr and the uglier side of the sex, when it's violent and about power. While we don't have to scrape for every bite and hide from pirates we might want to take the time to get clear with our conscious and subconscious connections to sex. If the community got clear and sacred about sexuality then it wouldn't be able to be manipulated by it. Another amazing reason to get sacred with your sex. Even if it's with yourself!
